This treatment is a fantasized version of what I personally would have liked to have seen in the sequel trilogy of the Star Wars saga. Although there were many aspects I enjoyed from Star Wars 7, 8, and 9...there are many areas that I greatly disagreed with along with most of the fanbase.
What you'll find in this treatment is extended scenes involving dialogue which I felt obligated to add based on the importance of the scene. I've also included images that I pulled from @starwarsedithub on Instagram...so basically this is just a bunch of fan fiction lol. Anyways, enjoy!
LEIA SOLO: The Grand Jedi Master of the New Order, Leia tries to cope with the loss of her son, Ben Solo, while keeping the life of the Jedi alive.
HAN SOLO: A tired war-legend angered at the loss of his son, Ben Solo, the former smuggler struggles to stay positive about the future.
REY: A prodigy of the Force, Rey has grown up her whole life isolated from others and personally trained by Luke Skywalker. Ignorant of who she is and where she comes from, Rey hopes to reach full potential as a Jedi and earn the trust of her peers.
POE DAMERON: A skilled, young pilot for the New Republic, Poe operates as a stealth operative going on special mission in his modified ship, The Sunrider.
FINN “Stormbreaker” SOLANA: A former Imperial Storm Trooper now fighting as a gladiator in the Battle Mazes of Canto Bight, Finn lives for himself, have nothing to fight for but his own interest. Finn is also a secret contact for Luke Skywalker to keep him informed on what’s happening to the galaxy during his self-enforced exile.
SUPREME LEADER SNOKE: A mysterious dark sider in full authority over The First Order, Snoke dedicated to the destruction of the Republic, and the divide of the galaxy.
GENERAL HUX: The commanding officer of the largest star destroyer in the galaxy: The Aggressor, Hux leads with a mighty fist, determined to follow Snoke’s every command.
KYLO REN:
The apprentice of Supreme Leader Snoke, Kylo is determined to destroy his past, and the Jedi with it in honor of his greatest role model: Darth Vader.
Outfitted with advanced hologram technology, Poe Dameron flies with the capability to run scans on most spacecraft and build a hologram around his ship – making it appear like any ship he desires. This helps a lot with stealth missions, or hiding from the enemy via disguising itself as one of their own ships.
THE NEW JEDI ORDER: Leia Solo is responsible for the training of 11 Jedi Knights, and 13 younglings/padawans. The temple is located on Had Abbadon, and is a neutral faction separate from the New Republic as decided by Leia Solo herself. However, the New Republic provides additional labor and funding to the Jedi Order as well as many other worlds.
THE KNIGHTS OF REN: A mysterious faction of strong warriors, a handful of these knights follow Kylo Ren’s every command in the name of the First Order.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away…
Night has fallen as a skirmish is takin place on the planet Ophuchi. Republic troops provide cover fire as a second team carries a precious cargo. Soldiers wearing pieces of Imperial Storm Trooper armor battle the Republic soldiers.
The team delivering the package reach their rendezvous point where a young Leia, Han, and Chewie were waiting for them. Chewie and Han sent barrages of blaster fire as Leia deflected with her purple-bladed lightsaber.
Leia orders the troops to open the crate. Upon opening it, revealed inside was Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber, Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber, and Anakin’s broken bottom half of his lightsaber from Attack of the Clones. Amongst the old relics were old text books and a shattered holocron. The troops close the crate as Leia reports through her comm device that the package is acquired. Lando responds affirming that he’s coming to pick them up.
A few moments after, a young Lando Calrissian swoops in on the Falcon with Nien Numb as his copilot just as New Republic X-Wing fighters fly in for a bombing run. The Falcon lands a little rough, and Chewie growls. Han scowls, saying that Lando definitely scratched her. The crew breaks for the Falcon with the crate. Republic gunships touched down to pick up the retreating troops, having accomplished their mission.
Leia rushes into the cockpit, hoping to see Luke. She asks Nien and Lando if they’ve seen Luke. Nien replies speaking frantically in his native tongue, Lando supports Nien’s comment saying he hadn’t seen him either. C3-PO interjects, attempting to translate Nien’s response, but is interrupted when Leia curses, wondering aloud where Luke could possibly be. C3-PO tries to comfort her, reminding her that R2 is with him.
Leia tries to run toward the exit ramp, but Han stops her, asking where she’s going as if she had lost her mind. Leia says she’s going after Luke. Han shakes his head, reminding her that Luke can take care of himself, and he’ll show up soon enough. Leia is reluctant to get back inside the falcon. As she leaves, a blaster bolt hits the flooring of the exit ramp. Han immediately returns fire with a single shot that takes out the storm trooper that fired. Han grumbles under him breath, saying Luke better show up soon.
R2 screams maniacally as he races closely behind Luke; the two running frantically down a road as storm troopers followed, sending scattered streams of lasers their way. R2 makes a sarcastic comment, and Luke yells over the blaster fire, saying he knew the cages were large, and that he thought they were holding prisoners.
Right after, a bellowing roar overtakes the noise of the blaster fire, and five rancors break through the alleyways attacking the storm troopers. Luke turns his head to look back at the rancors, mumbling under his breath that they were holding very big prisoners.
Luke steps inside the hut and finds a man and woman dead. Luke kneels down in front of the corpses. He looks at R2, wondering why they’d kill two innocent people. Suddenly he hears something shift in the corner of the hut. He activates his lightsaber in self-defense, but after a moment lowers his weapon, biding the person to come out of hiding. A little girl, about the age of five walks out from behind a dresser. Luke immediately shuts off the lightsaber.
Luke uses the force to hide the bodies with a large blanket so that the little girl can’t see her dead parents. Luke asks her what her name is. The little girl says her name is Rey. She looks like she had been crying. Luke slowly walks toward her, knees down so that they’re at head level. Luke wipes a tear off her face. He asks Rey if she wants Luke to take her away from this place. Rey reaches out and hugs Luke’s neck. Luke grows somber as he slowly lifts her up and carries her out of the hut. He turns his head as he hears the rancors growling and storm troopers screaming out in the distance. He tells R2 to stick close behind him, and the three races for the Falcon.
Han is sitting in the pilot seat with Lando in copilot. Chewy and Nien Numb are sitting behind them while Leia paces nervously. Han points over the consul, exclaiming that he sees Luke. Leia rushes for the exit ramp to meet Luke. She sees the little girl in his arms, Leia asks who that is.
Suddenly the sound of a blaster goes off. Luke’s eyes widen, and Leia isn’t fast enough to activate her lightsaber. After a few moments, Luke feels nothing, he slowly turns around to see a red blaster bolt sitting the air, like time seemed to have frozen. A trail of thin, blue electricity rippled from the blaster and seemed to have come from where Luke was standing. R2 coos with wonder. Leia gasps Luke’s name. Luke looks over at Rey, who’s hand is stretched out, and her eyes flickering from her natural blue eyes to a fiery orange as little strands of lightning curled from her little fingers. The storm trooper that fired the shot could only stand in awe. Chewie stepped down the ramp and fired his bow caster, knocking the storm trooper off his feet. The laser sitting in the air oozed and flickered out of existence.
Luke stared at the little girl; his eyes filled with familiar fright. Rey’s exhausted form caused her to slump over and fall asleep on Luke’s shoulder. Leia and Luke look at each other. Chewie growls. Leia tells Luke to get inside. Luke slowly walks into the Falcon.
As more storm troopers try to stop the falcon from taking off, the fastest ship in the galaxy spins off the ground and blasts towards the dark skies and into space.

The Legacy Continues
The NEW REPUBLIC rises! After the death of Darth Sidious, LUKE SKYWALKER
and his sister LEIA have dedicated their lives to training a new generation of
Jedi, and finding all that is left of the old Jedi Order.
Many years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, rebel cells of former
Imperial Storm Troopers either defended what little resources they had left, or
regrouped to form THE FIRST ORDER under the leadership of the mysterious
Supreme Leader SNOKE, and his apprentice, Kylo Ren.
After Luke’s discovery of the young Rey, his fears of the girl’s
powerful abilities call for his and Rey’s exile. Leaving hardly any clues to
her brother’s whereabouts, Leia takes on the role of Grand Master as she
struggles to train the New Jedi Order.
To the surprise of the New Republic, The First Order makes a daring move
as they form a blockade around the New Jedi Order’s home world of Had Abbadon.
Kylo now leads his fellow Knights of Ren against the Jedi, his undying loyalty
in Snoke’s hands…
Leaving the hangar of the First Order’s blockade over Had Abbadon, Kylo and the Knights of Ren enter the planet’s atmosphere.
The Falcon is making preparations to leave the Jedi Temple, but an aged Han Solo knows fully well they won’t make it off-world without getting destroyed. He warns his wife, Leia that Kylo will be arriving any second and it’s time to go. Leia hesitates - expressing her desire to stay and face Kylo.
One of Leia’s several apprentices, Lor San Tekka, approaches his master, urging her to escape; her importance to the future of the Jedi is greater than the needs of the present. Lor hands over a data disc, explaining that his and Leia’s endeavors to find Luke Skywalker grow closer to succeeding. It should be her that arrives to the rendezvous point where the other Jedi all over Had Abbadon wait for her and it’s even more important that it is Leia that convinces Luke to return. Reluctantly, Leia agrees to allow Lor to buy her time.
Laying chest down in the rolling hills of the lush planet, Poe Dameron lowers his binoculars as his droid, BB-8, beeps with fright. He agrees with his droid, affirming that Kylo was here. Scrambling to his feet, Poe races towards the Temple’s small hangar, warning Han, Leia, and Lando that he spotted Kylo’s ship. Lando looks to Han, saying that Solo better get moving. Han reminds Lando that he’s got room on the Falcon for one more. However, Lando reassures his friend that he’ll be leaving with Poe in his ship the Sunrider, renown for being the stealthiest ship in the inner rim. Han takes a moment before ordering Lando to take care. Lando chuckles, asking when he’d ever let Han down. Han’s smirk turned into a grim stare as he sees Kylo’s ship touching down on one of the landing pads. He motions to Chewie to get the Falcon running. As he walks past Leia, he taps her shoulder while she frantically records a holo-message for Luke. Completing the message, Leia retrieves the recorded message from BB-8.
Giving Poe the holodisk, Leia reminds Poe of the importance of the mission: Poe must find Luke and deliver the message to him. Poe assures her that he’s the man for the job, urging her to leave before it’s too late. Leia joins Han in the Falcon, and the ship takes off, staying below the atmosphere so as to not fall under the blockade’s radar.
The ramp of Kylo Ren’s shuttle lowers, and the young dark-sider walks onto the planet’s surface. Lor San Tekka approaches Kylo cautiously. Noticing that unlike the other apprentices, Lor doesn’t have a Padawan braid, and wears the cloak of a Knight.

Look
how powerful you've become.
LOR SAN TEKKA
Something
far worse has happened to
you.
KYLO REN
You
know what I've come for.
LOR SAN TEKKA
I know
where you come from. Before
you
called yourself Kylo Ren.
KYLO REN
The
destruction of the Jedi. You know

I’m capable of, and now you're going to

the name of the First Order.
Adjacent
to the village, Poe enters frame -- sees the Ren/San
Tekka
exchange continue. He proceeds to make his way towards the Sunrider with Lando
at his side, hoping the Knights of Ren won’t notice.
LOR SAN TEKKA
The
First Order rose from the dark
side...
you did not.
KYLO REN
I'll
show you the dark side.
LOR SAN TEKKA
You may
try, but you cannot deny the
truth
that is your family.
Suddenly
Kylo Ren raises his lightsaber that was once Anakin’s, but has since been
modified – HE IGNITES IT --

KYLO REN
You're
so right.
Raising his blade, Kylo brings it down on Tekka just as the Jedi raises his blue lightsaber, the two blades clashing loudly. As the two press their blades against each other, the remaining twelve of Leia’s Jedi Apprentices ignite their lightsabers. They stood at the ready – their blades a variety of blues and greens. At the same time, Kylo’s knights brandish their vibro-blades and other special weapons. Lor San Tekka remarks that Kylo is too late, and that his mother has already escaped. Kylo simply replies saying nothing is beyond his grasp.
Poe, BB-8 and Lando are breaking for the Sunrider. Climbing up the ramp, Poe notices that Lando isn’t joining him. Poe asks Lando what he’s doing. Blaster in hand, Lando tells Poe that getting him safely to the Sunrider was as far as he was planning to go; he’ll do whatever he can to slow Kylo’s pursuit. Poe tries to interject, but Lando insists aggressively- wishing the Force to be well with him. Poe reluctantly races to the cockpit, and the shuttle screams to life, lifting into the air and climbing towards the sky. Watching the ship leave, Lando looks intently at Kylo’s shuttle, a swindling grin crossing his face.
The Jedi Apprentices battle against the Knights of Ren, and one by one, the Jedi get picked off. Lor San Tekka and Kylo continue in their fight but it’s clear that Kylo has the upper hand. After a few more exchanges, Kylo ragefully cuts the Jedi down before immediately moving onto the next one.
As Poe guides the Sunrider into space, he sets his holo-cloak to the designs of Kylo’s shuttle. A hologram flickers around the Sunrider, making it resemble Kylo Ren’s space shuttle almost exactly as is.
At the bridge of the main cruiser, Admiral Hux of the First Order commands his officers to run a scan of the incoming ship that entered their radar. The officers run a scan of the incoming ship, and report that it’s Kylo Ren’s shuttle. Hux seems unphased, thinking allowed that the mission was completed a lot sooner than expected. He commands his officers to run a second scan, but before he can complete the order, one of the officers call out that the shuttle appears to be entering hyperspace. Hux orders in a bellowing scream to blast the shuttle, but Poe manages to enter hyperspace before the First Order could land a blow to his ship.
Kylo Ren delivers a killing blow to the last Jedi Apprentice. A handful of his Knights walk with him as he approaches Lando Calrissian, who sits confidently on a pile of crates.
Kylo demands that Lando tell him where Leia Organa and Han Solo’s whereabouts were. Lando replies smartly, telling him they’re on the “lush world of Had Abbadon”. Kylo assures Lando that he’ll find them soon enough, considering the blockade would prevent anyone from leaving or entering. Lando smiles, saying “tell that to the Sunrider: the stealthiest ship in the inner rim.”
KYLO
Leia
Organa. Han Solo. Tell me where they are.
LANDO *gestures to their
surroundings*
Your
father is still here on Had Abbadon, your master made great work of that
with his impressive blockade. Your mother, however, is out of your grasp.
KYLO
We’ll
find them soon enough. No one can escape my blockade any more than she
can escape the power of the darkness.
LANDO *Smiles*
Again:
tell that to the Sunrider. I’m afraid your ‘power of darkness’ only reaches so
far, my friend.
Kylo clenches his fist. He ignites his lightsaber and points it at Lando.
KYLO
Your
arrogance will be your grave.
LANDO
Oh,
it’s not my arrogance you should be worried about. Rather the life of whoever
sets foot on that ship of yours.
Kylo turns his head to look at his space
shuttle. Two Knights of Ren set foot on the entrance ramp. A surge of
electricity ripples across their bodies, followed by a colorful explosion that
engulfs the entire ship.
Kylo’s fist reaches out and Lando clings to his throat trying to grasp his breath. Suddenly, Lando was shoved into the ground through the Force.
LANDO (straining breath)
Your
pops’ll be disappointed when he finds out what happened to me…you got a lot of
guts.
KYLO
You
have more.
Kylo slashes his blade across Lando’s stomach. Lando momentarily stares into nothing before slumping over into the dirt.
One of the Knights approaches Kylo, asking what his orders are. Kylo stands still, looking down at Lando’s body. He slowly turns his head to the knight standing behind him and says to burn the bodies.

Still in hyperspace, Poe examines the data disc given to him by Lor San Tekka. BB-8 rolled from one of the back corridors, meeting Poe in the brig. A hologram showing a profile on a person flickered on. Poe thinks aloud, stating the profile had hardly any data except an alias and a planet. Whoever he’s looking for goes by the name of “Stormbreaker”, and he’s on Canto Bight. BB-8 asks Poe through a series of beeps and warbles what the significance of Canto Bight is. Poe tells his droid that it’s a world famous for their maze-blaster arenas. He further illuminates that whoever this Stormbreaker is, he’ll know the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker.

Rey is
running through the crystal forests of Ach-To. Tall, thin, amethyst crystals
stab the sky like tall trees without branches. The blue grass blows hard in the
wind as Rey takes cover behind black boulders to avoid blaster fire from the
three Marksman-H Combat Remotes flying overhead. She deflects the bolts with
her trainer’s staff made from wroshyr tree. After some time, she leaps,
twirling through the air as she knocks one of the remotes out of the air,
followed by a precise deflection that reflected back into a second remote, and
in a final advance, she spats an entanglement of yellow electricity from her
hand into the final remote.
She takes a second to catch her breath when Luke seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, commenting on her using Electric Judgment against his will. Startled, Rey argues saying that the old texts spoke of masters who used the dark side for the betterment of the light side.
REY
Master,
the old texts speak of many Jedi who used the dark side for the betterment of
the light.
LUKE
And you
are absolutely correct! Master Windu used Vaapad, Master Koon used Electric
Judgment same as yourself, and Master Kenobi was renown for his skills in
manipulation…and do you know what those three had in common that your texts
clearly don’t specify enough??
REY
…No?
LUKE
They
were Masters. And like most Jedi of that era they were equally arrogant
and blind to Darth Sidious’ scheming. So, the day your mastery of the Force
overcomes your arrogance – that will be the day I will no longer be of any
service to you.
REY
You’ve
been saying that for years! I bet Master Tano wouldn’t have cared.
LUKE
*walking back to camp*
Master
Tano wasn’t a Jedi. I am. No more Electric Judgment, Rey!
Scowling at Luke’s back, Rey zaps a crystal tree quietly behind her as she drags her feet back to camp.
Later that day, Rey is walking along the shoreline of the red beaches of the island they lived on. Rey looks at the sunset above the water. She looks over at Luke who is sitting cross-legged on a cliff meditating. Rey joins Luke in meditation. Rey tells Luke that dinner was particularly excellent today. Luke grins and tells her that he learned from the best (implying he learned from Rey.) Rey leans her head on Luke’s shoulder as the two watch the sunset before them.
Night had fallen. Luke walks past Rey’s cot silently so as not to wake her. Luke steps outside and walks deep into the woods. He calls out to his father, and Anakin Skywalker calmly walks out from behind a crystal tree.
ANAKIN
My son.
LUKE
She’s growing
more difficult to control every day.
ANAKIN
You
seek to control her?
LUKE
You’ve
seen her power, father. The last time we encountered someone with her
abilities…
ANAKIN
And you
believe holding back, restricting knowledge, and distrusting your padawan is
the correct path?
LUKE
So,
what should I do? Just allow her to do as she pleases?
ANAKIN
*fading away*
Such
absolutes…coming from one who called my master arrogant. If you truly want to
protect Rey from herself, to protect her from the dark side, you must let her
choose. You must trust her. You must trust in the Force.
The next day, Rey walks into one of the empty huts scattered throughout the island. This particular hut sat at the top of a large hill, and it’s where Luke kept his collection of relics. Rey steps inside, reminding Luke that he had called for her. Luke sets a chair beside him. Rey looks around the room and tells Luke she had never been here before, and that Luke told her it was off-limits. Luke tells her that she’s grown strong in the Force and has grown wise in her teachings. He also tells Rey that she’s the same age that he was when Obi-Wan trained him for the first time. Getting up from his chair, Luke pulls out a small box sitting in the corner of the hut. He opened the box revealing Obi-Wan’s lightsaber.
LUKE
There
were many people throughout my life that taught me the ways of the Jedi.
Obi-Wan was the first.
*removes the lightsaber from the box and shows it to Rey*
LUKE
This was Master Kenobi’s lightsaber. Informants told me it
was salvaged amongst other treasures in Vader’s fortress on Mustafar.
*Luke
hands the lightsaber to Rey. She activates it – a blue blade screaming from the
hilt. *
LUKE
It’s an
elegant weapon. A weapon that also represents the life of a Jedi. Obi-Wan gave
his to protect me, and so now I give his life to you, so that one day you may
protect others with it also.
REY
You’re…giving
me a lightsaber?
LUKE
*grins*
Don’t
poke your eye out, kid.
Rey embraces
Luke, and rushes out of the hut. Luke watches her leave and smiles.

Poe enters
Canto Bight. He enters into the blaster-maze arena hoping to learn more about
Stormbreaker. Poe enters the stands during one of the games. He watches as
Stormbreaker races through the complex maze, a floating monitor-droid capturing
all his movements. The bystanders in the stands watch through their own
monitors, placing their bets and cheering their favorite fighter’s name.
One after
the other, Stormbreaker shoots down other gladiators until he’s the only one
remaining. The arena chants his name over and over. Poe sarcastically tells BB-8
that he believes he found Stormbreaker.
Later that day,
night was beginning to fall. Stormbreaker is walking out of the arena with his
earnings while drinking Corelian ale. Suddenly he stops and tells the person
following him to show himself. Poe doesn’t do anything, and remains hidden
behind a dumpster. Stormbreaker repeats himself, adding that Poe’s hiding
behind the dumpster. Poe gives up and steps out from the dumpster. Without
hesitation, Stormbreaker pulls out a blaster and starts shooting at Poe. Poe
dodges for cover and yells out telling him that he knows Luke Skywalker.
Stormbreaker stops shooting for a moment, thinks for another moment and
proceeds to keep shooting at Poe.
The two
enter into a fire fight. Stormbreaker trying to kill Poe while the New Republic
pilot is trying to stun him. Taking Stormbreaker by surprise, BB-8 roles up
behind Stormbreaker and tries to shock him, but is frightened and runs away as
Stormbreaker spins around and fires shots at the ground just in front of the
droid. As Stormbreaker turns back to finish his fight with Poe, he’s surprised
when Poe is but a few feet from him and stuns him with his blaster.

A massive Star Destroyer hovers over Had Abbadon. A
dark space. Kylo Ren, addresses someone OFF-CAMERA whom we do not see.
A pair of TIE fighters roar over the skies of Had Abbadon from a star destroyer-inspired cruiser so massive, it dips into the atmosphere and continues across to the other side of the hemisphere. It is the flagship of General Hux.
SNOKE (V.O.)
The droid will soon be delivered to their secret target...
KYLO REN and General Hux in a dark space, looking UPWARD at someone addressing them. We're in a massive and dark ASSEMBLY ROOM. Hundreds of DESKS in a stadium arc, focused on a platform where we see SUPREME LEADER SNOKE. Not entirely human, at nearly twenty-five feet tall. All of him a STONY GREY. Old, wounded, fragile and powerful, all at the same time.
SNOKE
... Leading them to the last Jedi.
If Skywalker returns, the new Jedi
will rise.
GENERAL HUX
Supreme Leader, I take full
responsibility for the escape of the Sunrider and-
SNOKE
General! Our strategy must now
change.
GENERAL HUX
The armies of the First Order. It is ready. I believe
the time has come to use it. We
shall destroy Had Abbadon -
the last few remaining Jedi Knights will be
vulnerable, and we will stop them
before they reach Skywalker.
Snoke considers. Almost
seems to die for a moment. Then:
SNOKE
Go. Oversee preparations.
GENERAL HUX
Yes, Supreme Leader.
General Hux, proud, cocksure,
exits. Kylo Ren watches him go. Snoke SITS. A new intimacy in his voice.
SNOKE
There's been an awakening. Have you
felt it?
KYLO REN
Yes.
SNOKE
There's something more. The information
we seek is aboard the Sunrider. In the hands of a lone pilot,
Poe Dameron.
Kylo Ren reacts with
subtle, but real, surprise.
KYLO REN
I was told Leia Organa was with Dameron…
SNOKE
You were lied to, boy! Your mother is here on Had Abbadon buying
the pilot the time he needs to find Skywalker! You’ve allowed your connection
with your parents to affect you. Even you, master of the Knights of Ren, have
never faced such a test.
KYLO REN (STEELY RESOLVE)
By the grace of your training, I
will not be seduced.
SNOKE
We shall see. We shall see.
A gentle, satisfied nod
from Snoke and Kylo Ren, obsessed, filled up, exits. Snoke watches him
disappear; a grotesque evil SMILE growing -- as he DISINTEGRATES --Snoke has
been a HOLOGRAM all along. Alone in his meditation chambers, Kylo addresses an
unknown object.

On
Hosnian Prime, two guards and a handful of advisers enter the office of
Chancellor Mon Motha. Senator Tendo Nin, an Aleenian Senator tells Mon that
they received a message from the First Order blockade around Had Abbadon.
Chancellor Mothma, concerned, bade they play the message. Shimmering to a full
view screen is General Hux standing proudly over multiple battalions of troops
and their associated collective of tie fighters and transport gunships. Addressing them at a podium, flanked by RED FIRST
ORDER BANNERS, is HUX. His voice ECHOES:
GENERAL HUX
Today
is the end of the Jedi!
The end
of an order that acquiesces
to disorder!
At this very moment,
in a
system far from here the New
Republic
LIES to the GALAXY. They promise
Their
supporting systems protection and
yet
here Had Abbadon sits: at our MERCY. This
fierce
new order which you have built, upon
which
we stand, will bring an end to
the Senate!
To their New Republic!
All
remaining systems will bow to
the
First Order! And will remember
this...
as the last day of the Jedi!
The message
shimmers into nothing. Mon Mothma worries that this message was sent out all
over Republic systems. Senator Tendo was reluctant to say that nearly every New
Republic frequency received this message. Mon asks if the blockade has invaded
Had Abbadon yet, but one of the guards assures the Chancellor, saying that the
intelligence committee is confident the blockade won’t invade until Chancellor
Mothma makes a move. Mothma orders that they make contact with Poe Dameron to
get an update on his mission.
Stormbreaker wakes up tied to a chair. He strains
himself trying to get out. Poe stops him by brandishing his blaster. Poe is
much more impatient than their last encounter. He informs Stormbreaker of
General Hux’s message, and that the hour couldn’t be more desperate.
Stormbreaker agrees to give Poe access to his secret comms channel to contact
Luke Skywalker. Poe unties Stormbreaker and asking for his real name, saying
he’s not calling him “stormbreaker” anymore. The gladiator tells Poe that his
name is Finn Solana. Poe tells Finn that he fought like military as opposed to
most gladiators he’s seen. Finn tells Poe that he used to an imperial. Shocked,
Poe asks further. Finn explains that he defected from the remnants of the
Empire not long after the death of the Emperor, not really seeing the point of
fighting on a losing team. At least when he’s in the maze, he only has to rely
on his own skills. Poe states that that is a scary thought. Finn proudly grins,
saying “Trusting your own skills is only scary if you’re capable of losing. In
the maze, losing means you die – and I’ve been alive a long time.” The two go
to Finn’s hut where they connect the holodisk to the comms computer. Finn then
sends the message to Luke Skywalker.
On Ahch-To, Rey approaches Luke, telling him his
comms system just received a hologram message. Luke takes a seat alongside Rey.
They open up the message. A hologram of Leia shimmers to life.
REY
That’s strange, Finn usually sends the messag-
LUKE
SHH!
LEIA (Hologram)
Luke, years ago you left us. You never said a word, left a
note, never gave us a reassuring goodbye. I was angry with you for a long time.
But knowing you took the little girl with you told me what your reasonings
were. You were afraid…and maybe you still are. The last time I sent a message
like this to a Jedi…you and I were both very young, and the galaxy was in
danger. The situation has not changed and now I ask you…no, I beg you: trust
the Force. Trust the young girl. Help me Luke Skywalker. Help me save the Jedi,
and help me save Ben Solo…your nephew.
The message ends, and the two sits quietly for a
while. Luke leans back in his seat and rubs his beard.
REY
That was your sister…wasn’t it? Who is Ben Solo? I didn’t
know you had a nephew.
LUKE
Ben Solo was my nephew. His soul was tormented by the
dark side until his heart was killed and replaced with the cold stone that is
Kylo Ren. I felt Leia and her husband, Han blame themselves for his fall, but I
could have done more. I let this happen. *Looks at Rey somberly* I have to fix
this. And you are coming with me.
Walking towards a cliff, Rey watches as Luke
lifts a shuttle out of the water (Enter Yoda theme). Rey asks to herself that
that’s been sitting there all this time. They climb into the shuttle and leave
Ahch-To. As they enter space, Rey looks back at Ahch-To watching it grow
smaller and smaller. Luke closes his eyes and says softly “I’m coming.”
Leia feels Luke reaching out to her. She smiles
subtly. Her meditation is interrupted by Han as him and Chewie break into the
small room she was sitting in. They are located at a camp in the middle of the
woods. There are a small handful of Jedi remaining at this camp as well.
Han warns Leia that Tie fighters are closing in; a larger transport coming their way as well.
C3-PO scrambles out of the hut exclaiming that he sees the Tie fighters coming,
with R2 screaming behind him. Han wonders aloud how “he” found them. Leia
responds in kind saying that “he” is their son, no matter what, he’ll always
know where to find us. Leia calls for Jacen Syndulla, the young Jedi Knight
approaches Leia quickly, telling her that the remaining Jedi are ready to fight
to the last Knight. Leia almost irritant insists that Jacen lead the remaining
Jedi into hiding. She continues saying if they try to take on the First Order
eventually Kylo Ren will destroy them. For the future of the Jedi, Leia begs Jacen
to lead the Jedi away. Jacen responds saying the Jedi can’t go on without Leia,
of which she chuckles, saying they lasted this long with her, they can
certainly go longer without. Her last command bade the escape of the Jedi.
Jacen reluctantly gathers the remaining six Knights and seven younglings and
together they escape through the forests.
Han tells Chewie to get the Falcon running, but
Leia stops him. She tells Han that Kylo is after them. If the First Order
catches the other Jedi’s scent, it could mean the end of the Jedi. She instead,
suggests that they allow themselves to be captured. 3-PO claims he believes
that he’ll be much more comfortable inside the cabin. R2 watches 3-PO leave for
a moment before joining him.
Han asks Leia if she’s out of her mind, the storm
troopers will kill them on sight. Leia brushes off Han’s comment as she walks
away, telling him to stop whining like a baby and take it like a man. Han looks
at Chewie. Chewie grunts, pointing at himself and shaking his head – gesturing
back at Leia to retract the attention off himself. Han scoffs and follows his
wife. The transport touches down on the surface and a squad of storm troopers
come out followed by Kylo Ren and two of his Knights. Han, Leia, and Chewie are
quickly surrounded as Kylo approaches.
KYLO
Han. Leia. Chewbacca. It’s good to see you.
LEIA
We’ve missed you Ben-
KYLO
Ben Solo is dead – I destroyed him. He was weak, and broken
because of
You, so I spared him of his pain.
HAN
This act of yours…it can’t continue on; it’s only going to
make you suffer more.
Why don’t ya take the damn mask off? Look us with your own
eyes!
KYLO
What do you think you will see?
HAN
The face of my son!
KYLO
Perhaps. Or perhaps you’ll see the face of the man who killed
Lando Calrissian.
Han stammers in his words, his hand suddenly
moving toward his gun until he stops himself. Storm troopers move in and cuff
the three, dragging them toward the transport.
KYLO
I thought so. Now we wait for the arrival of Luke Skywalker.
The transport takes off headed back to the
flagship.
Luke and Rey touchdown on a run-down hanger bay
on Canto Bight. Before heading toward the rendezvous point, Luke sells the
ship, acquiring a handful of credits. The two walks into the bustling streets
wearing cloaks and hoods. Luke warns Rey about the dangers of “standing out”
while walking around the streets of Canto Bight. Rey is bewildered, thinking
that most people if anything would have respect for the Jedi. Luke responds in
kind explaining that people only respect great warriors. Sure, the moment they
swing a lightsaber the crowds will cheer, but the moment we sheath our weapons
we’re simply monks ready to exact justice. On a planet like Canto Bight, words
like “justice” and “crime” are non-existent, and therefore, the two Jedi must
remain cautious.
Turning into a small cantina, Luke and Rey remove
their hoods. A low-rate band plays music in the background. Luke tells Rey not
to touch anything, or look anyone in the eye. Luke proceeds to the bar where he
asks for a drink. Rey explores the bar, seeing all the different kinds of
aliens and peoples. Luke watches Rey go for a moment - the expression
concerned, before softening subtly as he keeps an eye open for Finn.
Rey continues to explore the cantina when a large
Whippid steps in front of her.
SPAN TAN—DU
Hey there, little lady, *chuckles* you look lost.
REY
I’m right where I need to be, thank you. Please excuse me.
Rey attempts to scoot past the Whippid, but the
large man grabs her arm and jerks her back to her original spot.
SPAN TAN-DU
*Pointing at her* I never said you could leave, lil’ lady!
Why don’t you remove that hood of yours…and maybe a little more after that?
*chuckles*
Luke intervenes, pulling Rey aside.
LUKE
My daughter here is not worth the effort. Now, I can buy you
a drink or cut off your arm. It’s your choice.
Enraged, the Whippid backhands Luke across the
face just as the old master draws his green lightsaber. Within the same second,
Rey unveils Kenobi’s blade twirling it in one fan of motion, and the Whippid’s
arm falls from his elbow. Falling to the ground, the Whippid screams in pain.
The band stops playing. Rey points the tip of her blade at the Whippid, the
edge singeing the hairs of the scoundrel’s face. Several people in the cantina
clap and cheer, saying words like “good show” and “it’s a jedi” in their native
tongues. Rey takes in the cheering and the eye-boggled wonder; it feels good.
The Whippid grumbles in pain as he clutches the smoking stump that remains of
his arm. For a moment, Rey wants to finish the job. Luke’s hand gently rests on
her shoulder and she immediately shut off the lightsaber. Several people in the
cantina grumble and groan in disappointment.
Luke tells Rey that they’ve blown their cover and
it’s time to leave. As the two turn around, Poe and Finn are standing at the
exit of the cantina, having just arrived.
POE
*shocked whisper* By the Force…it’s really him.
FINN
You guys done yet? Come on, we gotta get out of here. First
Order will learn of this real quick.
As the four leave the cantina, one of the
denizens sees the group, and speaks into a comm link before disappearing into
the shadows.
The four enter another hanger bay where BB-8 is
waiting for them with the Sunrider. Cheering excitedly, the little droid rolls
toward Poe. Poe kneels and rubs the droid’s head before scooting him off to the
ship. Luke asks where Leia is, Poe tells him that Leia is on Had Abaddon buying
them time from the First Order. Luke grows his sense of urgency, saying they
have to hurry. Finn tells the group that this is where his journey stops,
seeing he’s connected Luke to a flight off Canto Bight. Before stepping into
the ship, Luke thanks Finn for keeping him in contact. Finn tells Rey to look
after the old man. Poe looks at Finn, shaking his hand.
POE
Thank you for your help, Finn.
FINN
Forget it, kid. I’d stick around but I’m in enough trouble as
it is. The Maze Master doesn’t like it when his prize fighters miss two games.
BAINZ TREBO
No, I don’t!
The Maze
Master strides into the hanger with a group of various, dangerous looking
aliens armed to the teeth.
BAINZ
TREBO
My
little rats have been keeping an eye on you, Stormbreaker! You trying to leave?
My prize fighter has found himself a better agent than BAINZ TREBO??
FINN
I was
just about to contact you, Bainz, but I got sidetracked. You know you’re the
best Maze Master in the outer rim! Who could replace you? *whispers to Poe*
Prepare to blast our way out of here, pal.
BAINZ
TREBO
You had
a good run, Stormbreaker, but like everyone else: one of these days you were
gonna miss. And you, Stormbreaker, former Imperial grunt, have missed.
Finn whips
out his blaster just a few milliseconds before Bainz guards drew their
blasters. Sending a barrage of fire, Finn shoots down three guards within a few
seconds, Poe pulls his blaster and shoots one down as well. Bainz scrambles for
cover. Poe tells Finn to get in the ship. Rey steps out of the shuttle light
saber drawn, reflecting blasters back at the squad. Finn, Rey and Poe collectively
push back Bainz’s men as Luke starts up the engines. The three jumps into the
shuttle, and the Sunrider takes off as Bainz curses them away.
Entering
hyperspace, the crew of the Sunrider relax. Poe tells BB-8 to take over
piloting the ship. BB-8 replies with a confident toot. Poe steps onto the brig
joining Finn and Rey who are sitting alone. Poe ensures them that the ship
should reach Had Abbadon within the next hour or so. Rey tells Poe that she
hasn’t been in space since she was very little. Finn asks if it’s because of
Luke. Rey turns to look over at her master who is quietly meditating down a
corridor outside of listening range. She says that Luke took her away from the
other Jedi to train in solitude. She guessed that Luke may have seen something
in her that caused him to be so cautious. Finn tells Rey that whatever it was,
she’s certainly a valuable ally with that “laser-sword” of hers. Rey smiles,
correcting Finn by telling him it’s a lightsaber.
Finn shrugs saying lightsabers, laser swords,
Jedi or Sith doesn’t make a difference to him. All them have a history of
causing problems, some bigger than most. Rey considers Finn’s comment for a
second before suggesting that maybe this time the Jedi will truly make things
right. Rey states that Luke did it once, he can do it again. Finn retorts
saying it’s been almost 30 years since Luke Skywalker killed the Emperor. Maybe
things have changed for the better since then, but many years have passed and
the great Skywalker has gotten old. Finn asks Rey if she really thinks the old
man can take on Kylo Ren and his Knights, defeat Snoke and destroy the First
Order? Finn questions further, asking Rey if he’s so cautious with her, why
take her along?
Poe jumps in saying Rey can handle herself in
combat, why wouldn’t Luke want her backing him up? Rey glances over at Poe with
a small grin on her face. Finn calms down slightly. Finn responds by saying he
believes the old man is hiding something. Rey is quiet for a moment. She tells
Finn that her master is a good man and he’s put a lot of faith in her by
bringing her here. Rey says she has faith in her master and she tells Finn to
have a little faith too.
Rey remains quiet in her seat. Poe looks at Rey
for a moment without her knowing. Finn leans against the wall nodding his head
subtly. Rey ponders before rising from her seat and joining Luke in
meditation.
Later, the ship jumps out of hyperspace. Poe
climbs into the pilots’ seat with Finn climbing into the co-pilot. Rey and Luke
follow closely behind staring through the viewport. They see Had Abbadon out in
the distance with a Star Destroyer so massive it blocks half of the view of the
planet.
Poe states that is General Hux’s ship: The
Aggressor. Luke looks to the Force and tells the crew that Kylo Ren is on that
ship and so is Leia. Poe suddenly grows weary when he asks if they’ve gotta go
directly to Hux’s front door. Luke confirms Poe’s suspicions. Poe sighs with
irritation. He dives into the controls and selects a First Order transport as a
disguise. The holographic imagery flickers across the Sunrider until it looks
like a transport. Finn suggests they land in the private hangar, believing
there to be less troops on hand. Finn also states they’ll need disguises if
their gonna break in quietly. Luke grunts telling Finn that he’s not squeezing
into storm trooper armor.
Landing in the private hangar, Poe shuts off the
holograms around the ship, knowing up close the ship would obviously look
coated in a fuzzy hologram. Poe sees two storm troopers and an officer moving
toward the shuttle. Poe assures the crew that he can handle this. Walking down
the ramp, Poe greets the officer. The officer asks Poe to state his business.
Poe, a quick-witted rebel manages to convince the three to enter the shuttle
with him to look at some supplies smuggled in from the outer rim.
The crew leave the Sunrider in their disguises.
Luke tells the group that he’ll get Leia, Han and Chewie out while Rey, Poe and
Finn shut off the tractor beam, knowing the First Order won’t let them escape
as soon as they realize they’re not a First Order transport.
Managing to sneak past security, Luke uses
different forms of trickery through the Force to reach the prison block. Inside
the prison block is a squad of storm troopers guarding prison cells. Luke
observes the layout, trying to figure out a quiet way of getting through the
guards. A Jedi mind trick can only do so much when you have so many troops and
officers running around. Luke admits to himself that this plan was awful.
Disappearing from the scene, Luke comes back in a First Order officer’s
uniform, just barely too tight. He stumbles into the prison block shouting that
a team of rebels have infiltrated the Aggressor and he requires reinforcements
immediately. The commanding officer in the block notices the uniform he’s
wearing is of higher authority and sends his team of storm troopers to follow
Luke’s command. Luke tells the troops the rebels are in a hangar opposite of
where the Sunrider is located, and the troops blindly run off to nothing. Poe
reaches out to Luke through his comms asking for an update. Luke retrieves the
communications device and fills them in on his location. Luke enters the prison
block now inhabited by two officers. Not wasting any time, Luke snatches a
blaster and stuns the two officers. Asking Poe how they’re doing, Luke begins looking
through the security monitors to figure out where Han, Leia, and Chewie are.
Poe responds to Luke telling him they’re near the
control panels to deactivate the tractor beams.
Finn, Rey, and Poe run down a long corridor, just
barely hiding around the corner as a squad of storm troopers run past them. Poe
looks to Finn, asking where they should go next. Finn looks around carefully,
reminding Rey and Poe that the First Order cruisers aren’t that distant in
design compared to the Imperial Star Destroyers, they’re just larger in size.
His best guess was through a durasteal enforced blast door, and without a code
or bypass key, there’s no way inside. Poe looks at Rey, then back at Finn suggesting
Rey use her lightsaber. Rey says confidently that she can cut through the door,
but she’ll need time.
Approaching the blast door, Rey ignites her
lightsaber and jams it through the multiple layers of durasteal guarding what’s
inside. Poe and Finn stand at the ready blasters raised waiting for storm
troopers to show up at any moment.

Kylo Ren walks intently through the bridge of the
ship towards General Hux. Kylo commands they lock down the cruiser and prepare
for anything. Hux demands that Kylo explain himself. The Knight says he feels a
familiar presence. He can’t decipher what the presence is, saying there’s
something fogging his vision – like a counter signal in the Force. Hux suggests
the deployment of all troops to scan through the cruiser. Instead, Kylo insists
on pulling back all the troops - making it easier for their visitors; and
instead sending a squad to the prison block, believing whatever the presence is
must be after Leia Solo. Kylo leaves the bridge adding that he’s assembling the
Knights of Ren.

Finn expresses his worry, realizing they haven’t
seen any troops in a long time. Rey finishes cutting a large circle into the
blast door. Alarms immediately go off, blaring red lights inside the small room
encasing the control panels. Poe and Finn immediately get to work while Rey
guards their backs. After a moment, Rey expresses concern. She asks Poe and
Finn if they feel something different. The two guys say they feel nothing. Rey
says she feels cold and then she says she senses something…familiar.

Hux stands vulnerably on the bridge overlooking
the vastness of space when one of his officers reports an alarm going off in
one of the tractor beam control units. Hux immediately grows weary, knowing
Kylo Ren’s order to pull the troops back. Ignoring them, Hux orders the
deployment of all troops to clear every room in the cruiser and to obliterate
the infiltrators.

Luke Skywalker peers through one of the monitors
and sees Han sitting grumpily in one of the cells. Rushing toward the cell,
Luke opens the door. Luke tells Han there’s no time to waist and they have to
hurry. Han slowly rises from his seat, throwing a punch across Luke’s face.
“That’s for leaving.” He says before asking Luke if he brought a blaster. Luke
rubs his face before handing Han the gun. Luke asks if Han knows where Chewy
and Leia are held, and Han says they’re in the next two cells down. Han opens
Chewies cell, while Luke opens Leia’s.
The cell door hisses open, and there Leia sits
calmly. Luke smiles at Leia, and vice versa.
LUKE
My name’s Luke Skywalker. I’m here to rescue you.
LEIA
I know.
Leia embraces Luke for a long time. Luke tells
Leia that he’s sorry for leaving. Leia assures Luke that everything that
happened wasn’t his fault.
Suddenly a blaster screams down the corridor. Han
yells out that they’ve got company as he fires back at the incoming troops.
Luke activates his lightsaber scrambling in front of Leia and Chewie to deflect
the blaster bolts as Han shoots.
CHEWIE
Rooarrrr!
LEIA
You said it, Chewie. The nostalgia is lively!
LUKE
I didn’t expect them to get here so fast! There’s gotta be
another way out of here!
HAN
Well one thing’s for sure, I ain’t getting in another garbage
shoot!
Suddenly storm troopers scream in agony and fall
to the ground one after the other. A distant lightsaber hums through the air.
Han shoots down the last trooper as Rey, Finn and Poe climb into the room
through the bodies. Finn asks if Luke’s done messing around. Picking up a sling
of grenades wrapped around a storm trooper and a second blaster, Finn reminds
the group that the hangar is “this way”. Watching Finn run down the corridor,
Han looks up to Chewie and tells him he like’s that guy.
Poe greets Leia with a hug, Leia thanks Poe for
accomplishing the mission. Leia’s eyes suddenly shift toward Rey, who stares
blankly back at the old woman. Leia gently smiles, “This must be Rey. You’ve
grown so much since last I saw you.” Rey smiles softly, whispering Leia’s name.
Leia pats Rey on the shoulder saying she’s glad to have Rey with the group.
Han informs the group that the Falcon is in
hangar 4. Opening one of the locker crates with his stollen storm trooper blaster,
Han retrieves his own blaster, tossing Chewie his bowcaster, and Leia’s
lightsaber. The group leaves the cell block toward the main hangar bay. Poe
informs the group that Rey, Finn and himself will retrieve the Sunrider and
help the Falcon make a clear getaway.
Before the group can separate, a squad of storm
troopers come their way sending a barrage of blaster fire. The seven duck for
cover and return fire. Rey turns to Luke as she activates her lightsaber,
telling him that Poe, Finn and herself will provide cover while they get to the
Falcon. Before Luke can respond, Rey leads Poe and Finn as they charge toward
the squad, blasting one down after the other while Rey’s lightsaber fans
through First Order armor, cutting and dismembering. Han, Leia, Luke and Chewie
stand and watch the three cuts through the enemy fast and efficiently.
LEIA
Something familiar, eh?
HAN
Nah. I’m a better shot.
LUKE
Come on. We gotta go.
The four runs away.
Cutting down another storm trooper, Rey races
towards the doors to the hangar bay. Poe and Finn stand at the ready, preparing
for whatever may be on the other side. The doors slide open, revealing three
Knights, and two large anti-cruiser canons ready to destroy the Sunrider at the
flip of a switch. One of the Knights orders the three to surrender or their
ship and themselves will be destroyed.
Poe and Finn show disgust as they prepare to
throw down their weapons. Rey, however lunges her fist forward, throwing the
three Knights several meters back. The canons unleash two heavy blaster bolts
at the Sunrider, and suddenly the bolts freeze midair.

Kylo Ren stops in his tracks, his four other
Knights stopping with him. Kylo slowly shifts his helmeted head. He whispers
“master?” under his breath.
·
Poe and Finn look in shock, the three Knights
turn their gaze towards the floating lasers the size of barrels. After a few
moments the lasers discharge in random directions causing large explosions. The
room is filled with fire. Poe and Finn race toward the shuttle while Rey
finishes off the three knights. It takes her a few moments, and she is cut
several times with the Knights’ vibro blades. Eventually she manages to cut
down the three men. Poe tells BB-8 to get the ship out of the hangar and to
locate a YT-1300 Corellian Freighter, saying the Falcon should be the first one
that shows up in the scanner. The Sunrider speeds out of the hangar.
Luke, Han, Leia and Chewie reach the blast doors
to hanger 4 where the Falcon is located. The doors swing open and waiting for
them is Kylo Ren and four of his knights.
C3-PO and R2 are standing on the entrance ramp of
the Falcon, 3PO exclaiming that they’ve been held captive on their own ship.
Chewie growls at Kylo firing a shot at him, but
the blast bolt is deflected back into Chewie’s shoulder. Han returns, firing
several shots at his son, but the dark sider deflects them all, followed by a
strong Force-blast that throws the former smuggler into a wall. Luke ignites
his green lightsaber as Leia activates her amethyst blade.
KYLO *to his knights*
Leave me to my mother. Kill my uncle. My father. And the
Wookie.
Two of the knights attacked Luke while one
advances towards Han’s unconscious body and the other after Chewie. Luke fights
in defense as the two opponents send attack after attack. Chewie roars in anger
as he fires his bow-caster at Han’s assailant. The Knight manages to dodge
several of his blasts before getting nicked in the shoulder. The Wookie fires a
few more times, each time the Knight barely avoids getting shot, but succumbs
to minor burns as the lasers glance across his body. Chewie’s assailant
releases an aggressive war cry as he leaps into the air to strike down on his
head. Chewie swings his blast rifle with his massive arm, batting the knight
away and buying him more time to save Han. Firing one last time, the Wookie
blows a hole through the head of the Knight who was just inches away from
killing Han. Returning to his own opponent, Chewie grabs the Knight by both
arms. Ignoring the searing pain in his shoulder, the powerful Wookie pulls the arms
off of the screaming warrior. Not wasting anymore time, Chewie grabs Han and
carries him into the Falcon.
After a long and tiring battle, Luke manages to
put some distance between himself and his two opponents. He uses his purchased
time to catch his breath. Mumbling under his breath that he’s getting too old
for this sort of thing.
Leia approaches Kylo Ren quietly.
LEIA
Ben, it’s not too late. It’s never too late to come back.
KYLO
What makes you think I want to?
LEIA
You’re my boy. I can feel the conflict in you; the good.
KYLO
There is no good. Only the pain of betrayal and neglect.
LEIA
Ben…
KYLO
My name is Kylo Ren. Ben Solo is dead. Soon you will be too.
LEIA
Maybe. But just like my boy: I will always be part of you.
Leia and Kylo duel, the entire time Leia doesn’t
dare attack, instead she defends herself against Kylo as long as she can.
Moments after Luke manages to gain the upper hand over the two Knights and cuts
them down. Before Luke can join Leia, storm troopers pour into the large hangar
bay. The Falcon roars to life. Chewie roars as he sends a barrage of fire at the
incoming troops. Luke rushes to aid Leia in her duel against Kylo.
Just then, the Sunrider swoops into the hanger
joining the fight and sending showers of blaster fire into the storm troopers
pouring into the hanger.
·
After being reported that the Sunrider and the
Falcon are both creating havoc in the hangar, Hux screams orders to send out
tie-fighters to intercept them.
·
Seeing the Ties, Poe contacts Chewie through
comms, saying he’ll do his best to clear a path, but they’ve got to leave as
soon as possible. By now the entire hangar is full of fire and continues to
echo with small explosions. Han wakes up from his unconscious state and slowly
gathers himself onto the controls. He looks through the viewport and see Leia
and Luke battling Kylo.
Luke, Leia and Kylo Ren duel. Kylo Ren shows
signs of struggle as he carefully attacks Leia while defending himself against
Luke. Barely buying himself enough time to focus, Kylo blasts Luke in the face
with a Force push, throwing the Jedi Master backward and into the ground hard.
Leia and Kylo lock lightsabers. Kylo brings himself closer and closer down on
Leia as the two also lock eyes on each other.
KYLO
Look carefully. You know how this will end.
Leia spends a moment looking into her son’s eyes.
She reaches out to the Force and looks at her twin brother. Then back at Kylo.
She grins.
LEIA
I know.
Leia pulls away from Kylo, holding her weapon
close to her chest. Luke growls in pain as he pulls himself up. He looks at
Kylo, then back at Leia. His eyes widen.
Han takes his hands off the controls of the ship,
his hands braced against the windshield. Leia looks up at Han one last time.
Kylo Ren strikes down his mother.
Leia falls but only her robes hit the ground. Her
lightsaber clinks on the ground; it’s owner nowhere to be seen. Luke’s eyes
glare into a furious aggression. He outstretches his hand and throws Kylo Ren
across the hangar crashing into fallen debris amongst the flames.
Han is frozen.
Luke takes a moment to collect his thoughts. He
watches Kylo pull himself out of the fire, his clothes fireproof, but
nonetheless blanketing him in a cloud of smoke. Luke retrieves his sister’s
lightsaber, and reluctantly climbs into the Falcon.
The Sunrider flies by the hangar, a few Tie’s
climbing close behind. Poe yells telling the Falcon it’s time to go. As the
Sunrider speeds past the massive hangar, Rey sees Kylo Ren for the first time.

Kylo Ren sees Rey for the first time.
·
The two lock eyes for a brief moment. Chewie
pulls Han out of the way and takes over the controls. The Wookie is crying as
he pulls the ship into the air. Han collapses onto the ground. The ship escapes
into hyperspace.
The Falcon is set to auto pilot. Han is still
sitting in the corner of the cockpit where he collapsed. He looks confused and
yet void of emotion. Chewie nestles beside him and wraps his wounded arm around
Han.
HAN *Whisper*
She’s gone…she’s gone, Chewie.
Luke sits at the round lounging table. Luke hears
Leia’s comforting words all those years ago when Ben Kenobi was killed.
LUKE (FLASHBACK)
I can’t believe he’s gone.
LEIA (FLASHBACK)
There was nothing you could’ve done.
Luke cries, banging his robotic fist on the
table.
LUKE
There was so much I could’ve done!
R2 slowly
rolls forward beside Luke. He plays the hologram of Leia asking for Obi-Wan’s
help in joining the rebellion against the Empire.
Without
asking permission, C3-PO shuts himself down for the trip.

Kylo Ren barges onto the bridge with his helmet
removed. Hux slowly turns to face him.
HUX
The rebels escaped, as I know you’re well aware. Perhaps if
you weren’t so conflicted, we’d have apprehended them.
KYLO
Your orders were to pull back the troops.
HUX
I’m aware of what you wanted me to do, but
understanding the flaw in your strategic abilities as well as your inability to
defeat a pack of wrinkly old relics, I elected to give orders of my own!
KYLO *Draws lightsaber*
It’s because of YOUR inability to follow that ONLY my mother
is DEAD! Now because of you we’ll have the ENTIRE Republic raining fire on us!
I should cut you in TWO! I should BURN you at the steak and make my armies
cheer!!
HUX
You wouldn’t dare threaten me. You’re just Snoke lackey! I am
the commander of this vessel, AND YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY OVER ME, WHATSOEVER!
Suddenly Hux and Kylo were slammed into the
ground and pulled away from each other. A hologram of Snoke shimmered in
between them through a mobile hologram device.
SNOKE
You have failed me, and now you pester and argue like
children. While we maintain Had Abbadon as a bargaining chip we remain in
control.
KYLO
Master, in my failures I have slain Leia Solo-
SNOKE
It means nothing! Your true test is Skywalker, and until he
is dead, no one else matters to me. You would do well to end this conflict
within you as well, instead of letting your emotions get the best of you, boy!
And until you have fulfilled my one desire, lay waste to what remains of the
Jedi Temple; remind the Republic of what is knocking on their doorstep.

The Falcon and Sunrider pull out of lightspeed
and enter Hosnian Prime. Landing in the hangars connecting to the New
Republic’s main area of operations, the crew is greeted by Mon Mothma, Admiral
Ackbar, Nien Numb, and a few members of the Republic senate.
Luke, Han and Chewie slowly walk out with R2
following close behind them. Rey runs out of the Sunrider and catches up to
Luke. Finn and Poe join them as well. Mon Mothma greats them somberly, saying
that Leia was the greatest of us all.
R2 and BB-8 meet for the first time. BB-8 circles
around R2 before chirping with approval. R2 simply rolls forward knocking BB-8
out of the way.
As the group walks away from the hangar, Han
stays behind. Chewie calls out to Han, but Han assures Chewie that he’ll catch
up. Han sits down on the entrance ramp of the Falcon and watches the sunset.
Chancellor Mothma tells the crew that it’s been
nearly 24 hours since Hux threatened us with the bombardment of Had Abbadon.
Since then it’s been nothing but debate in the senate.
Luke is confused, asking Mon why the Republic
wouldn’t support Had Abbadon – a planet in need of help. Mon explains that for
some, aiding a neutral system would be a waste of resources, not including all-out
war against the First Order. For others, a New Republic attack against the
First Order would legitimize their organization; something that could cause
divide and civil war across the senate and possibly the galaxy. The last thing
the galaxy needs is another civil war. Luke expresses how shocked he is by
everything. History rises to repeat itself as if the Clone War never ended.
Mon Mothma tells Luke that as trying as these
times are, Leia’s death and the attack on the temple - Luke Skywalker’s
presence may be enough to persuade the senate to stop the First Order blockade.
Before Mon could finish her proposal, one of her
handmaidens approached her, telling her there’s private footage that’s been
delivered to her. Luke, Rey, Poe, Finn, Chewie, R2 and BB-8 follow the
Chancellor to her office to watch the footage.
The footage glitches into view. It’s an aerial
view of the Jedi Temple on Had Abbadon. Mon whispers, asking herself what it
is. Luke leans forward, confirming Mon’s subconscious suspicions. Suddenly in
an overexposed flash of light, an explosion fills the screen. When the light
faded away and some of the black smoked cleared, all that was left was
destruction. Poe curses under his breath. Finn is discouraged. The footage
shuts off, and Luke sits down.
LUKE
The First Order is calling us out. They want us to attack.
POE
So, we attack! We’re the New Republic for crying out loud we
could surround them tenfold!
MON
Attacking them would legitimize their rebellion.
POE
They have a dark sider; you can’t get more legit than that!
MON
Can someone please tell me who this hot-headed stunt pilot is
that thinks he can give his opinion?
Luke looks over at Poe. Luke suggests that Poe
steps outside and cool off for a moment. Poe reluctantly goes. Finn and Chewie
follow. Mon Mothma redirects her attention.
LUKE
You realize, Mon, that not aiding Had Abbadon could leave
many more systems more susceptible to supporting the First Order?
MON
Either way we turn goes to war.
LUKE
The Rebel Alliance defeated the Empire because Palpatine
didn’t take us seriously. What began as rebel cells grew to something greater.
At any moment the Empire could have legitimized us and destroyed us and you
know why they didn’t? Pride. And if we don’t stop that blockade a lot of people
are going to die. In time our fate will be the same as the Empire’s. Chancellor
Mothma…the question is not: “What should we do?”. The question really
is: “What should we be?”.
MON *smiles*
You never changed.
Finn, Chewie and Poe exit the Chancellor’s
quarters. Chewie and Poe step off to the side waiting for the meeting to end.
Finn slowly walks in the opposite direction. Poe notices and stops him.
POE
Finn! Where you going, buddy?
FINN
It’s the end of the line, kid. I only stuck around because I
didn’t have a choice. Now I do. Good luck with your problems.
POE
What are you talking about, man? We need you!
FINN
Nah, see, no you don’t You said it yourself, you’re the New
Republic! You don’t need me, and I sure didn’t need you guys either.
Finn continues to walk away. Poe watches him go
for just a moment.
POE
WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?
Finn stops in his tracks. He turns around and
walks back up to Poe.
FINN
Excuse me?
POE
You heard me, Finn. What’s pushing you away? Can’t you see
the wrong in what’s happening? What the First Order is doing? Don’t you
understand?
FINN
Actually, I understand perfectly. I used to be part of the
same band many years ago before they changed their name. I don’t want any part
of this.
POE
Your lying to yourself. I can see it in your eyes. You know
it’s wrong. You want to fight for us.
Finn smiles as he walks away.
FINN
That’s where you’re wrong, Poe. I’m a gladiator. I only fight
for myself. I’ll see you around.
Mon, Rey, and Luke leave the office. Mon tells
Luke that there will be a discussion amongst the chairmen of the New Republic
to discuss their next move. From there the senate will vote on what to do about
Had Abbadon. Mon proposes to Luke that he give the speech as a representative
of Had Abbadon. Luke agrees.
Finn enters the hangar bay. He sees Han still
sitting beside the Falcon. Night has fallen. Han is looking out over the
bustling streets; the wind blows aggressively.
FINN
I’m sorry for your loss.
HAN
She was at peace. She was ready.
FINN
So, you have the Force too?
HAN *chuckles*
You don’t have to have the Force to know people love you,
kid.
Han looks over at Finn.
HAN
So, you’re leaving, huh?
FINN
How’d you know?
HAN
I was in your shoes a long time ago. I chose to stay.
FINN
What made you?
HAN
I could easily say that some naïve wannabe Jedi inspired me,
or maybe I was in love with his sister. That fact is: I had something beyond
myself to do favors for. And it felt good. I’ll see ya when I see ya, kid.
FINN
Yea…
The senate gathers in a round room full of
pillars and stacked rows of seats. At the center of the room is Mon Mothma. She
introduces all the politicians to Luke Skywalker who approaches the center
column.
LUKE
I am Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master, and friend of the New
Republic. Frankly I don’t deserve to be here. You see, my sister Leia was the
Grand Master of the New Jedi Order while I was gone. She’s responsible for the
training of over two dozen Jedi – a handful of them Knighted and serving the
galaxy bravely. Or at least a few of them. The First Order formed a blockade
and Kylo Ren is responsible for the deaths of more than half of those
Jedi…including Leia.
*The Senate gasps and whispers*
LUKE
The Great Obi-Wan Kenobi was my Master. He lived and fought
during the Clone Wars. It was an era that divided the galaxy. It nearly
destroyed us all. Now we stand at the doorstep of the fates. By not aiding Had
Abbadon: the home of the Jedi, we repeat a past that will only bring us
destruction. I come to you…hoping for a change in the Republic. You are my only
hope.
The senate is silent. Chancellor Mothma steps up
and introduces the vote to aid Had Abbadon. She calls for the senate to raise
their voter’s stem; thus, approving the support of the neutral system. Almost
every member of the senate raised their voter stems, the top of the stems
activating a bright, yellowish light. The dark room looked like it was full of
stars. Mon Mothma smiles, and concludes the meeting.
The New Republic prepares the fleet. Pilots run
around towards their associated X-wing fighters. An old Wedge Antilles debriefs
the plan to the commanding officers and other members of the fleet including
Rey, Chewie, R2, 3PO, Poe and his droid BB-8.
The plan is to send a convoy of transport ships
to take civilians safely off world and out of the blast range of the Aggressor.
The fighters will provide cover for the transports while the main cruisers will
advance on the Star Destroyer.
After the debriefing, Rey finds Luke standing on
the edge of the hangar watching the sun rise. Rey asks if he’s seen Han. Luke
looks over at the Falcon, and tells Rey he hasn’t left since they arrived. Rey
asks if Han is going to be okay. To that, Luke says he doesn’t know. He tells
Rey she’ll be taking his place during the raid and rescue. Rey is confused and
surprised. Luke tells her his place is here, and it’s Rey’s time. He encourages
her to trust in the Force, and he will be with her always. The two embraces and
then Rey leaves.
Poe is refueling the Sunrider when he notices
Finn carrying a crate full of supplies to the ship. Poe smiles, helping him
load the crate into the cargo hold. Poe asks why Finn came back. Finn tells Poe
not to ask questions or he’ll change his mind. Poe smiles to himself as Chewie
helps him remove the refuel pump.
Wedge Antilles commands for all the pilots to man
their stations. Rey joins Chewie, Poe, and Finn as they enter the Sunrider.
Chewie climbs into the copilot seat as Poe mans the controls. Finn and Rey sit
behind them as C3-PO staggers behind the passenger seats running communications
and BB-8 operates the droid-control panel.
POE *looks at the crew and smiles*
Let’s ride.
Chewie roars with determination as he punches the
ignition. The Sunrider speeds out of the hangar; the entire New Republic fleet
close behind.
Kylo Ren sits in his chambers looking at Darth
Vader’s mask. He looks distraught. A tear falls from his face and his fist
clenches. General Hux calls in requiring his presence on the bridge. Kylo Ren
aggressively wipes his tear, and puts on his mask, joining Hux. Hux informs
Kylo they’ve received intel that the Senate has voted to aid Had Abbadon, and
the Aggressor has made all preparations for an invasion. It’s only a matter of
time, and soon the New Republic will learn the truth that is the power of the
First Order.
The New Republic pulls out of hyperspace, the
transport conveys escorted by the X-Wing fighters speed towards the surface.
Hux orders the all ties to take out the fighters.
By the time
the Tie-fighters reach the X-wings, the transports touched down on the ground,
allowing civilians to enter the ships and take off. Poe flies the Sunrider into
the fray shooting one Tie after the other. Finn and Rey are operating the
additional guns shooting down fighters.
Wedge
Antille’s cruiser The Beacon exits lightspeed along with several smaller
cruisers. He sees the massive star destroyer, saying it’s the biggest star
destroyer he’s ever seen.
·
Hux orders
his officers on the bridge to activate the main canons. Six massive canons
unsheathe from the sides and hull of the Aggressor. Bright red lights fill the
canons before immense bolts of energy scream toward the surface of Had Abbadon.
Most of the transports manages to escape the planet in time, however handfuls
of ships and hundreds of people are engulfed in a powerful explosion.
Further
along the surface, Jacen Syndulla stands on the edge of cave with the rest of
the padawans and knights. They all watch in shock as a large mushroom cloud out
in the distance nearly takes up the entire sky. A pilot cries out asking what
that was. Wedge’s grim face says it’s their bombardment. He orders the fleet to
focus all attention on the star destroyer.
The New
Republic focus all fire power on the Aggressor but the shields are so powerful
they hardly make a difference. Poe communicates the invulnerability of the
shields to the fleet, saying there’s no way they’ll be able to break through
those shields unless they could board the cruiser and take it out from the
inside. Wedge asks how much time Poe would need. Finn asks if they’re really
going back to the Aggressor. Rey replies saying it doesn’t look like they have
much of a choice. Poe tells Wedge to buy as much time as he can. As the Poe
dives his ship toward the star destroyer, the Sunrider shimmers into the form
of a Tie-Fighter nearly blending in perfectly but glitching every so often.
C3-PO says he has a bad feeling about this.
Guiding the
Sunrider into the hangar, several storm troopers and officers stare at the
Sunrider’s strange form as it tries to maintain its Tie-fighter hologram.
Shutting it off, Poe opens fire on all the officers and troops inside the
hangar wreaking havoc. Poe orders Chewie to activate blending mode. The
Sunrider builds a hologram of their surroundings, blending the ship in nearly
perfectly.
Poe orders
both droids and Chewie to stay and guard the ship. Poe asks Finn where he
thinks the shield generators would be held. Finn unconfidently guesses down a
corridor.
·
Back on
Hosnian Prime, Luke steps onto the Falcon. He sees Han tinkering with some
parts. Luke tells Han that they could use him on Had Abbadon. Han asks why Luke
hasn’t left with Rey. Luke sits beside Han and tells him that his place is with
his brother. Han sheds a tear for the first time in a long time. Han tells Luke
he’s tired of fighting; tired of it all. A tear falls from Luke’s face. Han
tells Luke that he needs time alone. Luke tries to change his mind, but Han warns
Luke to leave or else he’ll just piss him off. Reluctant, Luke leaves the
Falcon.
·
On Had
Abbadon, Hux orders the next wave of Tie fighters to take out the New Republic
fighters. One after the other, X-wings are shot down. One of the four main
cruisers is destroyed under heavy bombardment. Wedge Antilles continues to
fight and buy time for Poe and the rest of crew, insisting to his men that
they’ve got to give them more time.
·
Rey, Poe and
Finn continue to cut down storm troopers as they race through the halls and
corridors. Their pace is suddenly stopped as they are forced to take cover. The
blaster fire grows too strong for them and the three are stuck under cover.
Finn refuses to get stuck under protection and attempts to return fire, but is
shot in the shoulder, throwing him to the ground. Screaming his name, Rey pulls
Finn’s body to safety. He’s still conscious, clutching his bleeding, smoking
shoulder. Rey asks Poe what they should do. Poe is without words.
·
Another
Republic cruiser is destroyed. Then another. Their fleet of X-Wings are reduced
to less than half the initial size. Many have begun to lose hope.
·
Luke
Skywalker sits atop the hangar bay. The wind blows hard. Luke kneels down
crossing his legs. He calls for his father and then for Leia, begging for their
strength. Luke outstretches his hands, and enters battle meditation.
·
Wedge
Antilles overlooks the battle, and his face full of worry and hopelessness is
suddenly shifted to a bode of confidence. Antilles bellows at his fleet,
telling them they’ve been in worse situations before, and if they just give Poe
and his crew enough time to deactivate the shields, they will have victory.
·
Luke
Skywalker strains as he performs battle meditation. He grumbles under his
breath, begging his father and sister to give the fleet their strength; their
will.
·
The X-Wing
pilots begin shooting down Tie-fighters one after the other. Several pilots
cheering each other on, screaming with victorious joy as they destroy General
Hux’s fleet.
One of Hux’s
officers reported that they’re down to their last wave of fighters. The officer
asks if Hux should have them at stand by. Hux growls with anger, screaming at
the bridge, ordering the last of his fighters to obliterate the Republic fleet
and show no mercy.
·
Still tucked
in their corner, Rey, Finn and Poe’s only remaining option is to backtrack and
find another way. Rey suggests they retreat and find another way to stop the
shields. Poe initially rejects the offer, but as the storm troops grew closer
and closer - not stopping the barrage of blaster fire for a second, he begins
to believe it’s the only plan available. Rey tells Poe to cover her as she
steps out in the open, barely able to keep up with the lasers coming her way.
Poe fires at the storm troopers with Finn around his shoulder, and the three
manage to scramble back the way they came.
Running back
into the hangar, the three freezes in their place when they see Kylo Ren –
lightsaber drawn.
KYLO
So, you
were the presence I felt. So familiar and yet…so distant.
POE
Rey…
REY
Go
across the hangar and find another way to the generators. I’ll take care of
this. GO!
Poe and Finn
hesitate, but ultimately listen and run across the hangar down another
corridor. Rey draws her blue lightsaber.
KYLO
You’re Luke
Skywalker’s apprentice.
REY
And you
are the son and murderer of Leia Solo!
KYLO
She was
holding me back from my true potential. Now I am one step closer to being free.
REY
Free
from what?
KYLO
Everything.
In a furious whirlwind, Kylo attacks Rey with a
series of brutal strikes. Rey manages to stop his lightsaber with hers and
returns with careful strikes of her own.

Luke
Skywalker is dripping with sweat. His nose bleeds profusely, and his hands are
shaking violently. He asks that the Force weaken their enemies, and draw away
the will of the First Order.
·
General Hux
stands overseeing the battle. Suddenly a lone officer rises from his station
and begins to walk away. Hux notices and demands that the officer explain what
he’s doing. The officer’s face is stricken with fear. Hux scowls with disgust,
drawing his blaster and shooting the officer in the chest. Hux threatens his
officers to stay at their stations or share a similar fate; claiming that the
battle is still theirs.
More tie
fighters go down as the X-wings continue to attack the star destroyer, hoping
to weaken it as much as they can. Poe and Finn on the other hand shoot down the
storm troopers with ease. Poe asks Finn if the storm troopers are suddenly slow
and even worse shots than they already were. Finn tells Poe to focus. Poe
retorts childishly saying he is focused.
Rey and Kylo
continue to duel aggressively around the hangar bay.
KYLO REN
You
need a teacher! I can show you the ways of the dark side!
REY
The dark
side?
The duel
grows with more and tension, the fight pushing them down random hallways and dark
flight paths. Rey lashes out, barely cutting Kylo across the face. Kylo
stumbles backward but doesn’t fall down, clutching his scarred face. Kylo glares
furiously at Rey; revealing a dark, scolding line from his right cheek bone to
the right side of his forehead. The two clash swords once again.
·
Poe and Finn
reach the shield generators. They rig charges to blow and immediately leaving
the room. The two make it back to the hangar, not seeing Rey. Poe calls out to
her, saying they can’t leave without her.
·
Kylo and Rey
are pushed into an open room full of control panels and columns. They’re both
exhausted but continue to push themselves. Kylo takes the upper hand when he
twists her lightsaber from her grasp, and Force throws her across the room. Taking
her weapon, Kylo roars with anger as he runs toward Rey to deliver the final
blow. Rey reaches out with her hands and a spread of curling yellow electricity
flashes at Kylo. Kylo manages to stop the lightning momentarily before his
lightsaber is flicked out of his hand. Before the electricity did any harm to
him, Kylo reacts with a powerful push in the Force that bends the electricity
around him like an invisible force field. Rey unleashes more power with both
hands as the explosive rain of electric judgment slowly shifts from a yellow
color to a blueish purple. Kylo strengthens his force barrier, matching his
power with hers. The two are equals, neither stronger than the other.
Suddenly the
force barrier and electricity begin to warp and mix into each other creating a
massive tumor of sinister green fire. The energy grows until it unleashes a
pillar of energy that completely destroys a chunk out of the Aggressor.
Rey and Kylo
recover from the blast, discovering they subconsciously used the Force to
protect themselves. Debris and dust floated all around them as roughly a tenth
of the star destroyer was laid waste. Separated by the gaping hole in the star
destroyer which loomed across the Had Abbadon atmosphere, Rey pulls her
lightsaber off Kylo’s hilt and into her palm, running back to regroup with Poe
and Finn. Kylo watches her go, knowing full well he could continue his pursuit,
but like Rey, he’s dumbfounded by what just happened.
Rushing into
the Sunrider, the three crew members escape the Aggressor just as the shield
generator exploded; a colossal explosion irrupting under the hull of the
cruiser. Hux contacts Snoke. Hux stands before SNOKE'S IMAGE. Relatively quiet
here, but distant SOUNDS OF DESTRUCTION. Hux tries to keep it together but is
horrified, heartsick:

The shield
generators have ruptured. The
Blockade is destroyed.
Snoke takes this in. Furious, desolate...
knowing.

It is
time to complete his training.
The Sunrider
speeds away from the Star Destroyer. Rey looks back, seeing the massive cruiser
entering deeper into the planet’s atmosphere. Rey gasps, saying the cruiser is
going to crash into the planet.
Wedge
watches as the giant cruiser wider than the planet itself falls closer and
closer towards its surface.
Suddenly it
stops and begins moving forward. Wedge orders his men to engage all defenses
and prepare for a counter attack. His officer tells him that the cruiser is
crippled. There’s no way it’s moving on its own. Wedge asks what could possibly
be moving a cruiser that large.

Luke Skywalker
is bleeding through his nose, ears and eyes, his clothing soaked in sweat and
blood. His hands still stretched out and shaking furiously.
Rey screams
as she stretches out her hands, fighting for all her might to help move away
the cruiser.
Jacen
Syndulla and the other remaining Jedi Knight’s on the planet’s surface struggle
with all their might as they help shift the cruiser out of the direction of the
planet. Citizens across Had Abbadon watch in horror as the star destroy barely
moves across the sky.

X-Wing
pilots and the bridge on The Beacon alike watch in wonder as the cruiser moves
completely out of the way of the planet before it crumbles and explodes.
Rey collapses
to the ground inside the Sunrider.
Jacen and
the other Jedi fall to the ground out of exhaustion. They take a moment to breath
before laughing with relief.

Luke finally
let’s go. His hands fall to his sides. He looks up to the sky. His eyes roll
back and he slumps to the ground. From the cockpit of the Falcon, Han sees Luke
fall over. He runs out of the ship to Luke’s side, telling Luke to wake up. He
calls for help as several Republic officers run to aid the Jedi Master.

The fleet
returns from Had Abbadon – a fraction of what they once were. The crew of the
Sunrider and other members of the fleet are greeted with excited cheers and
rounds of applause. Rey sees Han, and asks where Luke is. Han tells Rey Luke is
in sickbay. A look of concern falls over her.
Lying
unconscious in bed, Luke rests. Han informs Rey the doctors say he’s in a coma,
and they aren’t sure when he’ll wake up. Rey sheds a tear, but Han assures her
that Luke will be alright, and he’s getting the rest he always deserved. Han
tells Rey to enjoy her stay and the spoils of victory. Rey reluctantly leaves
the hospital room, leaving Han and Luke alone. Han’s look of empathy shifted to
that of emptiness. He touches Luke’s still hand and tells his pal that he’ll be
back. Han leaves the room.

Rey, Poe and Finn enjoy their time as members of
the fleet and the New Republic commend them and share conversation. Rey enjoys
the attention. Suddenly, Rey sees a dark figure in the crowd. She looks closer
and discovers it’s Kylo Ren amongst the bustling crowd. His clothes were torn
and his face half-stitched from the scar she gave him. He looks confused, looking
around until his eyes meet Rey’s. Her face folds into an expression of shock.
Before she knew it, Kylo disappeared in the crowd before her eyes. She spent a
moment trying to figure out what she saw, until her train of thought was
interrupted with Poe patting her on the back, drawing her attention back to the
party.
Kylo Ren
stands in the dark cargo hull of his transport ship. His clothes were torn and
his face half-stitched from the scar REY gave him. He looked confused. He spent
a moment trying to figure out what he saw, until his train of thought was
interrupted when his three remaining Knights informed him they were entering
Malachor – the home base of the First Order. Kylo looks through the viewport
seeing the dark red planet as they enter the atmosphere. The red clouds filled
his view for a few seconds before opening up to a widespread layout of the
First Order base. The base is bustling with activity, as if preparing for war.
